By accessing or using Litbook (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of Litbook after any changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Litbook is an AI-powered language learning platform that provides reading-based lessons personalised to your level, topics, and learning goals. The Service includes AI-generated texts, vocabulary tracking, comprehension exercises, and CEFR-aligned content across multiple languages. Features and availability may vary by subscription plan.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• Each person may hold only one Litbook account.
• You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at hello@litbook.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
• Share, sell, or transfer your account credentials to any other person.
• Use or abuse AI features in ways that could harm the Service or other users.
• Upload or transmit harmful, unlawful, or offensive content.
• Circumvent any technical measures that limit your use of the Service.

Litbook offers the following plans:

• Free — 1 lesson per day, no charge.
• Plus — €7.99/month, billed monthly.
• Pro — €13.99/month, billed monthly.

• Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically.
• You may cancel at any time from your account Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• No refunds are provided for partial months.
• We may change prices with 30 days' notice via email or in-app notification.

• Lesson texts, vocabulary explanations, and exercises are generated by AI and may contain errors.
• Litbook is not a substitute for professional language instruction or certified language courses.
• We do not guarantee strict CEFR-level accuracy for every piece of generated content.
• Use AI-generated content as a learning aid, not as an authoritative linguistic reference.

• Litbook owns the platform, design, software, and AI-generated content provided through the Service.
• You retain ownership of any content you create (e.g. custom vocabulary notes).
• By submitting content to Litbook, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display and use that content within the Service.
• You may not reproduce or redistribute Litbook content outside the Service without written permission.

• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms & Conditions.
• You may delete your account at any time from your account Settings.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
• We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

• The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Where applicable, EU consumer law and regulations (including GDPR) take precedence. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Portugal, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

We will notify you of material changes to these Terms via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
